On one side of Tokyo Station, a Four Seasons rises high above the Otemachi neighborhood with sweeping views of the Imperial Palace. On the other side, the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi is a much more intimate — and now newly renovated — affair.

Reopened on April 29 after an extensive refurbishment by Andre Fu Studio, the hotel’s lobby, 48 rooms and 9 suites have been fully updated for the first time since the 2002 opening.

My two-night stay at the property begins before check-in with lunch at Sezanne, one of the two in-house dining options. Despite opening less than five years ago, Sezanne is now an established institution in Tokyo’s dining scene, earning its third Michelin star in 2024.
